Biodynamics, Organic and Farming Ethics Tasing

Saturday, November 18th, 8 – 9.30pm, $40 pp

 12 seats availabe

An informative and fun tasting event.
Meet one of the most meticulous vignerons in the world, let alone Portugal: João Tavares of Terras de Tavares/ Quinta da Boavista. He will be leading a seminar and discussing the ethics of biodynamics and organic practices in the vineyard and the cellar that truly reflect the terroir quality and flavor of a wine. After all, the great wines of the world are examples of great farming. It will be an honor to introduce you to a true ‘vigneron’ (a farmer who cultivates the vine and not just a winemaker).

Please join us Wednesday, April 1st , as we explore the wine regions of Spain and sample some of this country’s best offerings. From Rioja to Rías Baixas, we’ll guide you through the main grape-growing regions, varietals, and winemaking styles. We hope to provide you with an insight into why Spanish wines have gained such popularity recently for their excellent quality and value.

Your host will be Michael (Tuco, Benedicto, Pacifico, Juan Maria, Ramirez, also known as the Rat) Fregren, Edmonton Sales Representative for Artisan Fine Wines. Michael has a keen knowledge and love of Spanish wines; what’s more he’s also fluent in the language.

Tasting begins at 7:00 PM and is sit-down format. We’ll begin the evening with a sparkling aperitif from Penedès, followed by two white wines and five reds. Bread and an assortment of cheeses will accompany.

Ticket prices are only $29.95 all inclusive and seating is limited, so please call the store at 780-488-7800 or visit us in person to book your reservation.
