Ticketed Sit-Down Tastings

Every now and then we like to host proper sit-down tastings presented by a rep/brand ambassador, or even winemakers themselves. For more information on upcoming tastings, see below:

  • Hunter Laing Whiskey Tasting ($50 Tickets) – March 5th, 7:00 P.M

It is finally time for another proper sit-down tasting, and we are very excited for the theme of this one. If you are a lover of whisky then you should be just as excited as us.

Hunter Laing is a young and old company that operates as an independent bottler and whisky blender. The Glasgow-based company was founded by Stewart Hunter Laing. Stewart previously ran the independent bottling company Douglas Laign with his brother Fred for over 40 years. The company was split up in 2013: Fred took over Douglas Laing & Co. with his daughter Cara, Stewart acquired his own bottling plant and brought Hunter Laing to life. At that time, Stewart already had around 50 years of experience in the whisky industry. Stewart is supported in running the company by his sons Andrew and Scott. The two also have a whisky background. They founded the sub-company and launched the First Editions series there. Before Hunter Laing, the two brothers worked as directors for the independent bottler Edition Spirits Ltd.

The tasting will be presented by Spirits Ambassador, Lee Hanson. Lee with his lifelong passion for all things Whisky has work in the Alberta whisky industry and community for many years, including Whisky buyer at J. Webb Wine Merchant. His Love of Whisky lead him to founding Barrel Hunter Import and Brokerage, whisky importing business dedicated to bringing in outstanding whisky to Alberta from distilleries all over the world.

There are only 20 tickets available, so clear those calendars quick. Also, for all port fans, stay tuned. More info about another sit-down tasting coming soon.

The lineup will include a selections from Hepburn’s Choice, The First Editions, The Old Malt Cask, and more.

Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/crestwood-fine-wines-and-spirits-presents-hunter-laing-whiskey-tasting-tickets-1222859919939?aff=oddtdtcreator
