Description
This white Bordeaux from Graves on the left bank is a little different from most white wines of this category. Ordinarily, they are dominantly Sauvignon Blanc with some Semillon blended in; however, this one is a 60/40 split in favour of Semillon. As such, it has a little extra weight on the palate, with notes of grapefruit citrus, beeswax, honeysuckle, and gooseberry.
This cuvee is meant as an homage to Montesquieu’s son-in-law, Chevalier d’Armajan, who had the Château D’Armajan les Ormes built in the 18th century, a the heart of Sauternes.
