Description
The TĂȘte de CuvĂ©e from ChĂąteau la Grolet is an annual selection of their best sites and best barriques to create the finest expression of their terroir, aged longer and released later. They sit on the right bank of Bordeaux, in the CĂŽtes de Bourg. The estate has been biodynamic since 2000. The 55-year-old vines, double Guyot pruned, grow on gravel soils with low yields and natural treatments supporting healthy growth.
85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Malbec. The wine offers effusive notes of tonka Bean, chestnut purée, vanilla blossom, sandalwood, and blackberry leaf over a fruit core of black currant and sloe berries, supported by powdery tannins of an almost cosmetic texture giving structure to the lush fruit and racy acidity that make this wine such a pleasure with an array of dishes. Drink now or age another 10-15 years. A beautiful picture of great farming and classical winemaking.
